...Guidance Evaluation/Preferences...
The WPC Alaskan medium range pressures, winds, PoPs, and QPF were
mainly derived from a composite blend of well clustered guidance
of the 12 UTC GFS/ECMWF/UKMET/Canadian models early on, with some
ensemble mean contribution from the EC/NAEFS late. Other grids
were more reliant on the 19z NBM. This solution maintains
reasonable product continuity in an active pattern with above
average predictability. Guidance offers reasonably similar larger
scale flow evolutions into next week with a cold low dropping out
of AK, leading to building ridging across the interior, while a
deep layer cyclone haunts the Aleutians and southern Bering Sea.

...Weather/Hazards Highlights...
A concentrated area of heavier rainfall is expected along the
southern coast and into the Southeast this weekend, but fades next
week as the cyclone drops south and fills from late Sunday onward.
Snows in the Brooks Range should also be on the decline during
the medium range period. Some gales are expected with a low moving
near the Aleutians next week. Rain should pick up across portions
of the Aleutians and AK Peninsula as well.
