...Snow and icy conditions have developed across the Gulf Coast
and will expand eastward through the day...

A Blizzard Warning is in effect for southwestern Louisiana and
southeastern Texas.

Winter Storm Warnings expand across the Gulf Coast from southern
Texas to northern Florida and northward along the southeast U.S.
coastline through coastal North Carolina.

Winter Weather Advisories are in effect from Texas to southern
Virginia.

At 900 AM EST...Current radar shows a swath of light to moderate
snow draped along and north of the Gulf Coast from southern Texas
to Mississippi. Some stations are seeing gusts of 20 knots,
approximately 25 mph, along and closer to the Gulf. Surface
analysis shows a 1015 mb (29.97 in Hg) low pressure in the Gulf
along a frontal boundary. A reinforcing Arctic cold front is
moving southward across the Deep South.

An impactful, rare winter storm will continue across the Gulf
Coast through this afternoon. Snow accumulations are expected to
be between 3-6 inches along the I-10 corridor from Houston to
Pensacola. Additionally, high wind gusts, up to 35 mph are likely,
and mixed precipitation types such as freezing rain and sleet may
mix in with snowfall to cause major highway and air traffic
disruptions. Winter storm impacts will begin in the overnight and
Wednesday morning for areas farther east across Georgia, north
Florida, and the Carolinas as freezing rain, sleet, and snow
begin. Another weather hazard will be the sub-freezing cold behind
the storm, especially in areas where there are power outages.
