Plains and Midwest.
Winter Storm Warnings are in effect over the Upper Midwest.
High Wind Warnings are active over much of the Central and
Southern Plains.
Winter Weather Advisories are in effect over portions of the
Central Plains and Upper Midwest.
Red Flag Warnings are active across the Southern High Plains.

At 800 AM CST...Surface observations depict a deepening 988 mb
surface low over south-central Kansas. Blizzard conditions were
observed over portions of the Central Plains on the northwest
flank of the low, while heavy rainfall and thunderstorms
translated eastward across the warm sector in the Mississippi
Valley. Strong gradient winds are also noted across much of the
Central U.S.

The cyclone across the Central Plains should continue to
strengthen in response to impressive dynamics across the region.
In the warm sector, severe weather and scattered instances of
flash flooding are expected across the Gulf Coast and South. On
the cold side of the system, the central Plains and portions of
the Upper Midwest will see blizzard conditions. Extremely critical
fire weather conditions will also persist over southwestern Texas,
while hazardous gradient winds continue across much of the Central
U.S..
