The Clipper system will continue to move across the Upper Midwest
today, then move into the southern Great Lakes tonight. Moderate
to heavy snowfall and strong, gusty winds are expected to continue
through tonight into Friday, with snowfall rates reaching 1-2
inches per hour at times. Some snowfall could be lake-enhanced
along the shores of Wisconsin and Illinois. The storm system will
gradually weaken into an open wave Friday afternoon as it
approaches the central Appalachians, effectively ending the period
of snowfall related to this Clipper in the Great Lakes by Friday
evening.
The next Storm Summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction
Center at 900 PM CST. Please refer to your local National Weather
Service office for additional information on this event.
