Moderate to heavy rainfall remains a concern across portions of
northern California and southwest Oregon through Saturday, but the
flooding threat will continue to diminish through tonight. Event
total rainfall may locally approach 25 inches in spots. In
addition to the heavy rainfall, heavy mountain snow is ramping up
again across the central and northern Sierra Nevada tonight and
will continue into Saturday. Additional accumulations on the order
of 1 to 2 feet are expected, particularly in elevations above 7000
feet. Winds will gradually subside through Saturday, but will
likely remain gusty in coastal areas and may lead to a few
additional downed trees, power lines, and power outages.
The next Storm Summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction
Center at 700 AM PST. Please refer to your local National Weather
Service office for additional information on this event.
