the storm system lifts out of the region...

At 900 AM CDT...A weakening area of low pressure is located
northeast of Michigan with an analyzed surface pressure of 994 mb
(29.35 in Hg). Light snow was ongoing over Michigan and northern
Indiana and Ohio on the backside of the area of low pressure. Rain
showers and thunderstorms are occurring ahead of a cold front
draped across the eastern U.S..

The Midwest storm system will continue to lift northeast into
Ontario this afternoon and snow over Michigan should abate by
this afternoon. The eastern seaboard can expect rain showers along
the cold front today and into early Friday. Some light snow could
be seen on the back side of the cold front in areas of high
elevation across the Northeast.
