The low pressure system is forecast to intensify as it tracks
northeastward across the upper Midwest into the upper Great Lakes
through tonight. Wet snow will continue to expand and become
increasingly heavy especially from northeastern South Dakota
across the northern Minnesota this afternoon into the evening. The
Arrowhead of Minnesota and areas along the coast of Lake Superior
may see maximum snowfall totals of 8-12 inches. Parts of northern
Wisconsin into the northern portion of Michigan will have the best
chance of seeing a tenth of an inch of freezing rain this
afternoon into the evening. Winds could gust in the 30-40 mph
range and make visibility low in snowfall. Additionally, there is
a potential for ice accumulations Thursday across portions of
central New England that may make travel hazardous.
The next Storm Summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction
Center at 1100 PM EDT. Please refer to your local National Weather
Service office for additional information on this event.
